Assignment 3

In this lesson you will create a visual pun; a play on images where two or more images are used to form a new meaning. You will use Adobe Photoshop Elements to combine unrelated images and employ interesting effects to create visual puns.

What is a Visual Pun?

Pun: A play on words, sometimes on different senses of the same word and sometimes on the similar sense or sound of different words.

Examples:
“And how many hours a day did you do lessons?” said Alice, in a hurry to change the subject.
“Ten hours the first day,” said the Mock Turtle, “nine the next, and so on.”
“What a curious plan!” exclaimed Alice.
“That's the reason they're called lessons,” the Gryphon remarked: “because they lessen from day to day.”

Chandler announces that he is sailing for Uruguay. Spaulding delivers a memorable pun: "Well, you go Uruguay and I'll go mine." — Groucho Marx (1895-1977)
